Weighing in, week 12

Hey guys! So these posts just keep coming in later and later, huh? I have to be completly honest, and I’m getting a little sick of writeing them every week when I hardly loose any weight. I was so pumped Sunday morning gunning for the scale feeling I had lost plenty, but no! Once again I had gained and was at 79,5. At the very least I’m still under my 4kg goal. I’d been working so hard that week, and was noticing changes on my body so it’s quite dissapointing not seeing progress on the scale when I have a target weight. I know it’s not all about the number, and I’m not obsessed about it, but I would still love to see that number go down! But let me show you my week anyway.

Monday: Was a good girl and actually made it to the gym on a Monday morning! Full 40 minutes of crushing intervalls on the elliptical before doing upper body (arms and core). It felt amazing and I got my highest score so far on Fitocracy!

Tuesday: Time for legs and my new routine is soooo hard! I thought I had time for core as well, but the excercies are so hard they take super long. I finish off with leg extentions working my quads which I have never done before and my legs feel like jelly when I’m done! I must look like an idiot wobbling off to the locker room, haha.

Thursday: For some reason I was a little late and only had time for 35 minutes of intervalls on my beloved elliptical. Good workout though! Was suppost to do upper body as well, but had to move that to Saturday.

Friday: Time for legs and core once again!

Saturday: My last workout before the easter holiday consisted of 28 (LOL, I know) minutes on the elliptical (all I had time for) and upper body.


I wanted to let you know right now that I won’t be doing a post for this week. We’re on easter holiday and there will be zero visits to the gym and I’m afraid our diet won’t be as healthy as usual either. It may be a holiday, but we will still make time for some good walks! But let’s face it, I won’t feel like weighing myself on Sunday after all that easter chocolate! You know what I’m talking about.

London in July

I can’t believe I forgot to tell you guys I got tickets for this summers trip to London, which I’ve been talking about since last summer. I got plane tickets a few weeks back, and my BFF Martha is coming with me. I’m soooo excited! We’re leaving early morning July 1st. Yay! Not only to see London again and shop like a maniac, but that I’m going with my best friend. We’ve been there together before, but that was over two years ago! Way to long. My last trip to London in February last year wasn’t that good, so I’m excited to bring back the good memories of my favorite city.

Can’t wait to show you everything I buy! Haha!

Edward update

You can guess why I so rarely blog anymore, it’s because I’m super busy taking care of Edward! He changes so fast, learning new things every week. He’s pretty mobile already, and I’m just waiting for him to start crawling. I bet he’ll be all over the place! But he’s still not to keen on sleeping, and although I get him to sleep during the night when I sleep, he’s awake most of the day. Awake and very grumpy that is. My free time I spend eating, tidying, working out and what little extra time there is I try to spend with hubs. I do love spending time with him though, playing with him and listening to his wonderful laugh.

Weighing in, week 11

Hi guys! Sorry about this post being so late, it’s been a hectic few days with Edward of course, and a little bit with something exciting I can’t tell you about until summer! But good news, I'm finally under 80 kilos! I weighed myself before meeting up with my personal trainer on Thursday, and luckily it was still 79,4 Sunday morning (the picture is not from Sunday). Which means I’ve also reached my first weight loss goal which was 4 kilos (every 4 kilos is a goal in our house) and I deserve a prize, but I can’t afford one! I’ll try to think of something though, I’ve worked hard to reach that goal.

Wednesday: Didn’t make it to the gym until that day, horrible I know! I usually start of the week with weights, but since I knew I would be doing that on Thursday I decided on just doing 40 minutes of intervals on the elliptical. I do 4x4 minute intervals for maximum weight loss.

Thursday: Time for the last meeting with my personal trainer, and she made two new weight routines for me so I can do legs one day and upper body another. Started right after our lessions with legs, and gosh what a work out! After walking home I just sat down, and I seriously couldn’t get up! Hubs had to help me! I was sore for days. Along with leg presses changed my squats from kettlebell to a 10kg barbell, and added leg extentions and two excercies in the ‘slynge’, which I can’t seem to find an english name for.

Friday: Somehow I managed to drag my ass to the gym and after a warm up my stiff legs managed to finish 40 minutes on the elliptical. Arms were to follow (didn’t have time for core) where I now do bicep curls and tricep extentions with dumbbells after my usual lat pulldowns and bench presses.

Sunday: You know Sundays means family walk! I can’t wait for it to be summer and for the ice to melt away so we can walk in the city mountains again.

Chanel Ombres Contraste Duo in 37 Sable–Émouvant

I usually don’t show you guys my new bits and bobs here on the blog or do swatches, but this new eyeshadow duo from Chanel is just so magnificent I had to show you! This is sheer perfection for my light skin, but I can definetly see these two working for any skincolour. The dark colour is a brown with golden-ish shimmer, and the lighter shade is a gorgeous champagne shimmer.

This might just be the only palette I need, and if you only want to guy one this might be what you need. I can see myself only bringing these and my base and eyeliner shadows for shorter trips and I could easily do both daytime and nighttime looks with it. The quality is Chanel at it’s best, and they are quite opaque.

I actually hate doing swatches, they never come out the way I want, but today I tried for you guys so you can get an idea of what they look like on my milky skin (most like BB Alabaster, a little lighter then NC15). One in shade and one in sunlight. They’re swatched quite lightly, and you could definetly build the colour. These pictures don’t do the shades justice, but I hope you enjoy anyway!

Weighing in, week 10

It’s time to get my act together, because no, I’m still not under 80 kilos! It’s so frustrating, and I feel like it’s not going anywhere anymore. And I’m sick of food! Planning meals, buying groceries, making food, all of it! There are moments when I just want to give up, and I have to remind myself I have big plans and that I don’t want to be fat. That I want to fit into that Herve Leger dress and make men drool. My boyfriend has been offshore most of the week, and it’s definetly difficult to keep on track and stay strong without him. I obviously have no willpower when it comes to chocolate!

What a rant this turned into! Must be because I’m super tired and just put Edward to bed. It’s tough being a single parent, even for just a few days! But back to business, at the very least I was very good in the gym this week! I had four amazing workouts, and thankfully I had progress in that department. Not a very exciting week though, but here goes.

Monday: Started the week with weights, which is what I look forward to the most when a new week starts. I also added more weight to most of my excercies, and I even added a new excercies for core strenght.

Tuesday: Time for cardio, and it’s wierd I didn’t lose five kilos from the amount of sweat that left my body! Hardcore.

Thursday: Same as Monday.

Friday: Same as Tuesday.

Sunday: Since hubs is away my BFF Martha joined me for a walk instead, and we ended up walking down Fløien, instead of walking up part of it like hubs and I usually do. Definetly worked those calves holding back the pram on icy hills.

DIY bracelets

Time to update the closet, and for once I decided to save some (read: lots) of money and make some accessories myself. I’m a lazy perfectionist, but I’m also a little bit cheap! I made these bracelets out of onyx and silver pearls, and I think they’re a nice mix of classic and modern. Perfect with jeans and a t-shirt for summer!

Finished products of January/February


Welcome to a new section here on the blog! This is where I write mini-reviews of the products I’ve actually finished (or in a few cases, like nailpolish, when you’ve reached the point where you just can’t use it anymore) in the last month/months, because everyone loves reviews, right? Before I started collecting empties on NYE, I didn’t think I went through as many products as I actually do. Sure, beauty is one of my biggest passions, but I don’t use THAT many products and I don’t wear make-up that often either.

I did end up with a lot of HG products this time, so I have to warn you, no angry reviews this time! Maybe I’m just really good at picking good products? I really hope you enjoy this and future posts.



Kérastase Resistance Bain de Force shampoo – This has been my go-to shampoo for a while now, and I really love it. Keeps my hair healthy and strong, and I can see a difference between this and other shampoos. Probably not the best for coloured hair, but it’s not that harsh either. I have already repurchased this.

Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect conditioner – Now this is my holy grail drugstore conditioner! Super cheap, and it leaves my hair sooooooooo soft! This is the only conditioner I’ve used for years, and no drugstore product can rival it. Wondering if I should try a salon conditioner though, just in case it’s better. Already repurchased.


Face & Body

Chanel Démaquillant Yeux Intense eye make-up remover – I can say nothing bad about this! This is another product I’ve been using for years, and I have no need to try anything else. It get’s the job done and you’re not left with that slightly greasy feeling as some other eye make-up removers do. Already repurchased.

MD Formulations Face & Body scrub – Love, love, love this scrub! I use it on both face and body and it keeps my skin soft and supple. The bottle goes a long way too, I use it twice a week 5-6 months. Already repurchased.

Neutral shower gel – It’s just a shower gel without fragrance, as simple as that. Doesn’t dry out my skin. Started using these when Edward was born, so he could smell me and not perfume. I do prefer a nice scent in the shower, but I would still repurchase this. Sorry to international readers if this only is available in Norway.

La Prairie Purifying Cream Cleanser – Lovely, thick and creamy cleanser that cleanses very nicely. Absolutely loooooove the smell! It’s not cheap and only lasts about three months, but I think it’s worth the price and I keep repurchasing.

Creme de la Mer -  If you’re a beauty fiend like me, this needs no introduction. It’s the best. In the world. Ever. This is the only moisturizer that has ever worked on my super dry and sensitive skin, even during the winter. Worth every single cent! Already repurchased.


Hands & Feet

ACO Special Care footcream – I keep repurchasing this because it’s fine. It’s pretty cheap, it’s minty and cooling and keeps my feet soft when I use it regularly (I’m pretty lazy though). The only problem is that it’s so thick it takes a while to dry, so I usually just put on socks after application. Already repurchased.

Deborah Lippman The Stripper nailpolish remover – I wanted to love this, but I just can’t! It’s a good remover; it doesn’t dry my cuticles, removes all polish, and has an OK smell. But it’s just too expensive. You can get a just as good remover for a third of the price. Would not repurchase, but only because it’s too expensive.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Xerand hand cream – One of my favourite hand creams ever. The formula is quite funny so it might not give as much moisture as others, but it dries in like 5 seconds so you can go on with your life, which I think might be the most important feature in a hand cream. It’s also unscented which I love. Already repurchased.

ACO Rich Care hand cream – I like to use this before I go to bed and such, because it’s quite thick and contains shea butter which is nice. It is scented, which is why I don’t use it all the time, but it makes my hands quite soft. Dries pretty quickly too, but it makes hands feel kind of silky (for lack of a better word) which some might not like. Already repurchased.



Vichy Antiperspirant deodorant – This is a really nice deodorant for those of us with sensitive skin! It is slightly scented but not so much it’s a problem for me. It doesn’t clump or anything, and I’ve never had any itching like I do with regular drugstore or supermarket brands. If' you sweat very heavily this might not be the best for you, but if you’re at a medium level this will even work at the gym. Would repurchase.

Chanel Black Satin nailpolish – This is the only black polish for me. So shiny. Use it all through fall. Go buy it! Will repurchase.

Tom Ford Black Orchid perfume – This is my signature scent, and after 2.5 years I finally finished the bottle! I’ve never emptied a perfume before. It’s heavy and a little bit dark. And so sexy! Already repurchased.

Weighing in, week 9

Apparently this has not been a good week, because I had GAINED 200 grams! WTF? I was finally feeling like this were finally paying off, and I could feel my clothes fitting a tiny bit better. I was so sure I would be under 80 kilos this week. And then this disgusting surprise. Maybe it shouldn’t have been a huge surprise, because there was a bit more of the sweet stuff than usual, and I only went to the gym three times, but in my head the worst case scenario was that I weighed the same as last week.

Monday: This was the first Monday this year I actually made it to the gym! Took some extra time to get Edward to sleep though, but I got 35 minutes of cardio in, on the always fun elliptical. I set the incline/resistance the way I always do but for the first time I was no where near reaching my target heart rate! Apparently that means I’m in better shape? Not a great workout, but nice to know things are improving!

Wednesday: Even when I get up earlier than usual I never seem to make it to the gym any earlier, so all I had time for was a five minute warmup on the elliptical before I did weights. I changed all my reps from 10 to 12, so I can add more weight soon!

Friday: This was just a silly day! The thing is, Edward has to be sleeping in his pram when I leave him at the daycare thingy that have at my gym, unless he gets crazy grumpy. And he always falls asleep on the walk down, except today! So I just kept on walking and when he finally fell asleep there were like 10 minutes left before the daycare closed. At the very least I got a decent walk, probably 3km combined.                    

Saturday: Finally a day to workout when I would leave Edward at home with his dad and not worry about time! Did 40 minutes of elliptical adding more incline/resistance, and it was so hard I didn’t think I could finish! But I did and then did weights. I skipped my step-up knee kick thingys though, my legs could barely hold my body at that point! Even set a personal high score on Fitocracy!

Sunday: You know Sunday is family-day, so we had a nice walk together in the nearby mountain that is Fløien. Which we usually do. When Edward gets a little bit older I want us to take longer walks, breaking for lunch. But right now I don’t want to breast feed in the cold open infront of half the city.


Really hoping next week will be better! I will definetly work hard in the gym, and try my very best to stay away from that pesky candy. I reaaaaaaally want to be under 80 kilos!
