♥ A song that describes how you feel today

I’ve been thinking about this all day (while running around IKEA and other stores picking up things we need), and I thiiiink I’m deciding on ‘Like a G6’ by Far East Movement, just because I’m so excited about going to a party tomorrow and planning the day. I’m pretty sure the song is about partying, but it’s even better then that because it reminds me soooo much of Las Vegas because they were playing it EVERYWHERE when we were there two years ago. I can’t wait to go back nexy May!

Blog Challenge day 26

♥ Your favorite product right now

There's not really one product I'm crazy about right now (many that I love, but nothing new), but I think I'm gonna go with the Just Skin tinted moisturizer from Chantecaille. I got it a few months ago, and I've been using it almost every day since, sine I don't like using foundation every day. Now it's just a moisturizer, so of course it doesn't give any coverage, but it does even out my skintone a little bit. It definetly looks better with than without! It has SPF, which is important to me, even though it's only 15. Most of the time I apply it a few hours after Creme de la Mer, and I don't end up greasy. I've worn it a few times this spring without regular moisturizer first, and I haven't felt dry even though I have quite dry skin. Wouldn't wear it alone in the winter though!

Oh my, I just realized day 25 is missing! It's missing from the girl I copied the list from too, and I can't find it on the blog of the girl who started it. I guess this is a 29 day challenge then!

♥ A picture of yourself right after waking up ♥¨

There’s a reason people do these on cell phone cameras, to hide as many imperfections as possible! And you know, so you don’t have to get out of bed. My day always starts with Edward coming into our bed and getting some breakfast, before he continues to squirm and pull my hair until someone caves and gets up with him. What a life, haha! At the very least, he’s always happy in the morning.

♥ Your nightstand

Remember I told you my bedroom was super sad? Well of course that means I don’t actually have a nightstand. The style I like don’t match our bed (we’re gettin a new one when we move) and since there’s so little space we just never got nightstands. Right now I have a makeshift nightstand though, from a box of things I’m working on and some magazines. I also keep my nail oil there for bedtime applicating, and the book I’m readying (currently Professor Moriarty: the Hound of D’Urbervilles by Kim Newman, looooooove it and all his others books!).

♥ Your 5 favorite handbags

What a day! I’ve been super tired these last mondays (today is no exception) and we’ve had a tight schedule today so that’s why I’m blogging so late! I usually like having these posts ready atleast a day in advance so they can be out when you wake up and check the internet, but I’ve really been dreading this post! The truth is, I don’t have five handbags! I only have two actually! I know what you’re thinking, “She must have more than two, but the others are cheap, old and ugly”. No! I’ve thrown out all my old ones, and now I only have a MBMJ Lil Ukita in black, and a brown leather fringe tote from By Malene Birger SS 2008.

So instead of showing you those sad little bags that I don’t even love, just live with, I wanted to show you my handbag wishlist instead!

Prada-Saffiano-Lux-Tote-BN1786-NZV-F0002-a1-zoom

Prada Saffiano Lux Tote – My longtime followers know I’ve been mad about this for almost a year, and, God willing, it will be mine in a little over a month! I’m thinking black, because it works best with both my summer and winter wardrobe.

m91445

Louis Vuitton Alma – How insane is this handbag??? It’s not for everyone, but I find it so beautiful I don’t know how to describe it. This is the vernis leather and the colour is named ‘blanc corail’, which I absolutely love. It comes in an amazing hot pink too, but this white is just something else. I hope this will be my next designer bag!

Anya-Hindmarch-Gold-Glitter-Marano-Clutch

Anya Hindmarch Marano – It was love at first sight with this clutch. It’s just so perfect! I would LOVE to have this at my wedding, and I know I could wear it thousands of times after that because I think gold goes with just about anything.

pink-celine-micro-luggage

Celine Mini Luggage – I almost died when I first saw this crazy pink colour! I’ve wanted a ML for a while now, in black or orange, but they’re not super special if you ask me, but this is just out of this world. Might just give my left arm for this (have to keep my right arm to carry the bag!).

Chanel-Classic-Flap

Chanel Flap – Everyone might have this, but it’s timeless and I REALLY want one! It’s quite expensive though, so it definetly won’t be mine in the near future. This is definetly a bag you can wear forever with just about anything. I would get it in black caviar with hold hardware.

♥ Your worst habit

I’m not quite sure if I would call this my worst habit (because I don’t think it’s THAT bad, haha), but hubby would definetly say my worst habit is that I pick at my nail polish. As soon as there’s a little crack, I will pick and pick until it’s all off! It ends in a trail of dark red polish on the carpet, several times a week haha. Pretty disgusting when I think about it, hahaha!

♥ The perfume you’re wearing

I usually don’t wear perfume (I don’t want to mask my natural scent because of Edward), but right now I am and it’s Sexy Little Things Noir from Victoria’s Secret. It might seem like a small number, but I only have three perfumes actually. The other two are Black Orchid from Tom Ford (which I like to call my signature scent) and Coco Noir from Chanel. As you can see, there’s a theme to my perfumes, all pretty in black bottles, and they are all quite dark and heavy, which I love. I especially love the VS during the summer, because even though it’s deep it has a slight coconut note to it (which may be a little bit tacky, but I loooooove it).

♥ The content of your handbag

I’m a real bag lady, and I always fill my bag up with tons of stuff that I think I need for that certain day, but this is what’s always in there.

Kleenex, measuring tape, Furla pouch (see content in the next picture), Michael Kors wallet, public transport card, Canon IXUX camera, pen, BlackBerry, keys, calendar and note book.

Content of my pouch (I can’t live without this!): sewing kit, mirror, nail clippers, Sephora nail oil, specs cleaner, stain remover, hand cream, pain killers and lip balm.

♥ A picture of yourself as a child

Was I not a beautiful baby? Atleast I was until around starting school, and then it just went downhill. Luckily my looks returned as an adult! I chose this picture because I can see so much of Edward in me. He even has the same smile! Warms his mamas heart.

Blog Challenge day 17

♥ 10 people/items you’d bring to a desert island

So the first 8 of these were quite simple actually, especially since there were no limits to what you could bring. Of course I would want to bring endess chocolate and all my friends! I could write a boat and a phone, but I think the point of this challenge is that you’re suppost to STAY on the island. I do love a beach holiday, but I could never just leave the world forever like that.

1. Edward – Since this is a hypothetical scenario, of course I’d bring little Ed! In reality, I wouldn’t want him to live his entire life on a desert island, but at the same time I couldn’t imagine my life without him!

2. Sam – Obviously! He’s the love of my life you know.

3. All my friends – This is obvious too isn’t it?

4. Life supply of sunblock – Wouldn’t want to wrinkles or cancer, even on a beach!

5. iPod and speakers with eternal batteries – Because what is life without music?

6. A swiss army knife – You know, so I can chop stuff and kill things for food.

7. Something to start a fire with – BBQ every night!

8. A refrigerator filled with an endless supply of my favorite foods and candies – Mostly because I would want something cold from time to time, I can’t live without iced water. But I’m not gonna say no to chocolate either.

9. Lots of good books – I’d actually rather have books I could re-read over the years than a cellphone and a TV.

10. Tools – Would have to be able to build a little hut and hunt some food.

♥ Your room

I’m guessing this means my bedroom, but since I’m an adult my bedroom is just a room for sleeping, not very exciting. But since I have to I’ll show you anyway! This is definetly the sadest room in our apartment, probably because we haven’t bothered putting any money into it. I desperately want a new bed and some more stuff to make it more inviting, but that’s on hold until we find a new place to live. We were never planning on staying here very long anyway. As you can see Edward sleeps here too, and he will atleast until he turns one. I do love listening to him breathing and sighing when I’m trying to sleep.

Summer!

It feels like summer has arrived in Bergen this weekend. We’ve had the most amazing weather these last couple of days, and I have definetly been taking advantage of it! Since people in Bergen usually don’t trust positive weather reports, we were caught by surprise and had to rush to the pharmacy to pick up some sun block for Edward.

Today we took Edward out for his first picnic. We got some lunch and ice cream, and lounged in a park in the city center. It was crazy hot, but so nice. When I first got pregnant, this is how I pictured having a family would be. I did let him taste a tiny bit of ice cream, and it’s obvious that he has inhertited his sweet tooth from his parents because he keeps wanting more! Don’t worry, I don’t let him have more, it’s only to taste.

Hoping everyone is enjoying this amazing weather as much as we are!

♥ Something you’re afraid of

My absolutely biggest fear in life is losing my family. Before I had Edward I wasn’t that afraid of dying, I knew it was a part of life, but now there’s this constant fear that Edward would have to grow up without his mommy. And I don’t know how we would make it if we lost hubs. The absolute worst would be losing Edward of course, and parents aren’t suppost to bury their children. I know that we would life a good life with just one parent, but I probably wouldn’t survive without my little baby boy. I'm almost starting to cry just writing this, so I’m gonna stop now. You get the picture.

Eurovision Song Contest 2013

Eurovision is a big night for me, and I look forward to it for ages! I prefer heading to a party and getting drunk (preferably with my BFF as well!) but today I decided hubs and I should stay at home and make it a date night instead of one of us heading out and one staying at home. We dressed up, made cocktails and voted for our favorites of course!

My faves were Norway, Sweden, UK and Finland, but I had Belgium as the nights winner. Of course it was fun to have our neighbour, Denmark, win though.

♥ 5 things you want

So I do have everything I really want in life (I have to say that right?), I have a home, someone to love and a beautiful son.

1. To own a home. We are desperate to buy our own home as soon as possible, preferably a house. We want more room where we can grow our family, and we want the safety of owning the place you live. A garden where Edward could play wouldn’t be that bad either!

2. A bigger family. I want atleast one more baby, and I don’t want to wait too long either. I would really love to have a girl so I can buy her tons of pretty pink dresses, but I can see our family with two little adorable boys. But who can say in advance when our family is complete?

Tiffany Family

3. To marry the love of my life. Obviously! And I want to before we have another baby. I feel like I’ve been waiting for that diamond ring FOREVER!

4. More money! I like things, this can’t be a surprise.

5. To visit the Maldives. It just looks like heaven on earth, and it’s the number one place I’ve always wanted to visit! When we can afford it and find the time, I want to make it the trip of a lifetime for hubby and I.

17. mai

Congratulations all Norwegians! For those of you that don’t know, today is our constitutional day and celebrated by everyone. Since this is another first for Edward, we decided to just keep it simple and not go to any parties. We had another couple over for a big breakfast, and then we took a little trip downtown to get some ice cream (a tradition for just about anyone!). I think half of Bergen were downtown, and it was a little too much for Edward so we went home just the three of us and had a little BBQ before putting Edward to bed. Did you do anything special?

Behold my beloved BlackBerry! You will not see me sporting anything with a touch screen, I may be one of the few people that absolutely hate them. Right now I have a Bold 9780, but I reaaaaally want the new Q10 that is coming out right now. Should I splurge and get it? It looks so hot! Anyone else out there have BBs?

Littlephant

It’s that same old story. Girl goes to buy t-shirt, girl stops by baby department, girl spends loads of money on pretty things. I went a little berserk at Lindex today. I’ve been eyeing their Littlephant collection, designed by Camilla Lundsten, for ages and today I caved. But look at these clothes, aren’t they to die for? They’re still a bit big for Edward, but he’ll look adorable in them come fall.

♥ A picture of your handwriting

Now this is kind of embarassing for me! One would think all girls have naturally beautiful penmanship, men then you have girls like me that never really bothered when we were learning it in school. And now here I am, a grown woman with handwriting like a teenage boy. Thank god for computers! This isn’t even that bad for me, but it was the first I could find which is our list of dinners this week (we only shop once a week and plan everything ahead of time to save time and money).

♥ A picture of yourself, taken today

In our house, taking a picture of yourself in the morning (without looking like a hot mess) is a challenge in itself. The hours before heading to the gym is a mixture of me trying to make breakfast and Edward being needy in between playing with his toys. Result? Taking a picture at the gym! I wore all pink and black today (inluding shoes and underwear), because ‘on Wednesdays we wear pink!’.

Dinner out

Today I did something nice that I very rarely do, I went out for dinner! I met up with my BFF Martha, and we headed to Matbørsen for some asian at Yami Yami. I already knew I wanted to try the crispy duck after her recomendation, and I was not dissapointed. So nice to just spend time gabbing on about that stuff girls gab about! And I finally had an occasion to wear my new sequin cardigan from BCBGMaxAzria, yay.

♥ Your Jewelry

The truth is, I hardly every wear jewelry. I’ve always been terrible at accessorizing, and right now I don’t even have my ears pierced! If I’m wearing anything at all, there’s a 90% chance of it being the white gold heart I got from hubs as a push present after Edward was born. It even has a tiny ‘E’ engraved, and I cherish it to death. Missing that diamond ring still though!

♥ A 3-year-old picture of yourself

Oh yes, I had to look through Facebook to find this! I don’t actually have that many pictures of myself from that time, so this is 2 years and 11 months ago at a visit to Akvariet, the aquarium in Bergen. Yes, that is a stuffed wolf. I look pretty much the same though, that’s kinda boring. I was thinner though.

Edward’s Party

Today we threw a little party for Edward. A ‘navnefest’ as it is called in Norwegian, which is a way of celebrating a baby without having a christening. In the chaos that is our life we weren’t really planning on having one, but I ended up being afraid I might regret not having one for him. It wasn’t a very big and formal deal like some are, just good cake and good company in Edwards honor.

I do believe the little guy enjoyed himself, and he got some great prezzies too that he can remember for the rest of his life. I even let him taste a tiny bit of cake, hope that doesn’t make me a terrible mommy!

♥Your favorite food

This is a toughie for me, because I’m a biiig foodie! I love a good meal, and dessert too of course (I’m a chocolate fiend!). Having to choose, I think I’m doing to say steak is my favorite food. A nice big, juicy medium-rare steak with some kind of potatoes, fresh veggies and a delicious sauce is heaven to me! Of course I love chicken, tacos, burgers, ribs and pasta too! I will have to add some sort of chocolate dessert to that meal too. I often crave something sweet after dinner, and dessert just isn’t dessert if it ain’t chocolate!

Blog Challenge Day 6

♥ One thing you’ll never do ♥

This is a tough one for me and I’ve actually been thinking about for days. I think alot of people would say they’d never bungee jump or something extreme like that, but I would definetly do that! So after lots of thinking, I guess I’ll have to say I will never do drugs. I think it’s scary to not be in control of your brain like that, and I wouldn’t want to risk destroying my life either. Addiction is scary too.

Sorry that this became such a boring day, but now you know this about me as well. I thought it was best to not add a picture, haha.

♥ Something or someone you miss ♥

I definetly miss summer and a little but of sun right now. In Bergen we more or less have fall all year round, and at the most we can hope for a nice week or two in July. We had snow last week, and I still haven’t packed my UGGs and down coat, in case it gets super cold again.

I can’t wait to lay out in the sun, go swimming, have picnics and just relax on my balcony.

30 Days blog challenge – Day 1

Since I’ve been such a terrible blogger I decided to jump on the band wagon and do this 30 days blog challenge all the norwegian bloggers are doing right now. So now I can get a kick start on blogging daily again, and you can get something new to check out every single day! I found it in norwegian, so I had to translate it myself in case any of you think it differs alot from the other ladies.

So since the last thing I bought hasn’t arrived in the post yet (and is just a boring pair of white Converse sneakers anyway), I thought I’d show you the second last thing which was this wind jacket from BikBok. Can you tell I love white for spring? This is definetly not very ‘me’, but I decided to try a new look since I needed a new spring jacket so desperately. You like?

Finished products of March & April

DSC_1516

It is time for another installment of the finished products series! The reason I’m doing them bi-monthly right now is to save up as many products as possible, because it just wouldn’t be fun with just 4-5 items. You might recognize a few of these from last post, so I’m not going to write about them again, just link back.

DSC_1512

SHOWER

Kèrastase Resistance Bain de Force shampoo – I wrote about this last time as well, it’s a really lovely shampoo and I’ve been using it for quite a while now. Would repurchase.

Dr. Greve Sensitive Dusjgele – This is one of the few actual shower gels I like, and that I don’t feel dry my skin.Slight, but nice smell and there’s not really more to say! Would definetly repurchase and have many times before.

ASAN Mild Shower & Shave – This is the only shower cream I’ve seen that’s meant for both washing and shaving, but as some of you might know, most soaps will do the trick. I’ve only shaved my legs with this and it works. Does it work that much better than other soaps? I’m not sure. But it smells nice and would probably repurchase it.

Palmolive Naturals Black Orchid shower milk – I’m such a big fan of Palmolive’s shower gels and milks, and this is no exception. It smells super good, no shocker there when my signature scent is also named Black Orchid! These are really cheap, they always smell nice, they don’t try out your skin, and they, well, clean you! Would definetly repurchase.

DSC_1514

MOISTURISERS

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps body lotion – My holy grail body lotion! Smells delicious (and it’s not a strong scent) and it gives my super dry skin enough moisture, even in the winter. It doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin either. I had to cut open the bottle because of the stupid pump, and actually got about two more weeks out of it. This big bottle lasted me about 6 months with one full body application every single day. Definetly worth the money! Already repurchased.

Blistex MedPlus lip balm – This is the only balm I’ve used for years and I still love it. It’s so cheap at the pharmacy and gives LOTS of moisture. If you’ve never used lip balms I wouldn’t recommend this, because it’s quite strong! Already repurchased.

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Xerand hand cream & Aco Rich Care hand cream – I wrote about both of these last time as well, and as you can guess each lasts about one month with several applications every day. Would repurchase both, but I decided to try a few new ones so you can read about something new next time!

DSC_1515

MISC

Vichy Stress Resist Anti-Perspirant Treatment – This was definetly a big miss for me! This is a new deodorant from Vichy, and is suppost to be the strongest of the 3 they have. This has more perfume than the others, and the only way I can explain the scent is as a manly rhaspberry. Strange right? Not only did I sweat through this (even though it’s said to last upto 72 hours), and the scent matched horribly to my body scent. Didn’t even bother finishing it. øyould definetly not repurchase this, I went back to the 48H one I wrote about last time instead.

Chanel Rouge Noir nail polish – You know how much I love the polishes from Chanel, I wrote about ‘Black Satin’ last time, and yes, I do love this one just as much. I’ve had this for ages, probably 6-7 years and it’s so sad that I finally have to throw it away. After countless thinings, there’s just not anything more to do. This may the the most famous polish in the world, and it’s sad to say that since I got it the colour has changed slightly. Not much, but just enough to not be perfect anymore. It’s particularly sad for me, seeing as this is actually the one I wore giving birth to Edward! Would definetly repurchase because of the formula (Chanel’s dark polishes are the best), not sure about the new shade yet though.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – A little goes a long way with this one! I’ve had this for 2,5 years and I figured it was time to get a new one, even though this was not completly empty. This changed the world of eyeshadows for me, and I never go without it anymore. But remember, just a little tiny bit, too much and it will just smudge. Already repurchased.

YSL Faux Cils Shocking mascara – I decided on this after reading many good reviews on Sephora, and I have to agree that this is really good when you really want extreme volume without wearing falsies. You have to work with it though, you can’t just slab on a coat and run out the door. But if you bother spending time applying it, you get big lashes that aren’t too lumpy (someone show me great volume without ANY lumps and I’ll die!), no spider lashes here. Had this for about 6 months, and in the end I did notice a slight drizzle. Would definetly repurchase.

DUO eyelash adhesive – You know this is the best eyelash glue in the world right? I’ve had this tube for quite a while now and it’s not even empty, it more or less last forever and goes lumpy before running out. There’s not more to say really, it’s simply brilliant. Will repurchase for sure.
